How to check your exit re-entry visa on Absher or Muqeem

Check an exit re-entry visa on Absher if it is your own personal visa, or on Muqeem if your employer issued it through the company account. Both show the same core fields: visa type, issue date, return-by date and status. Use the steps above, then the official portal, never a third-party site.

Absher (أبشر) is the Ministry of Interior’s e-government platform where individuals handle their own government services, including many visa and iqama tasks. Muqeem (مقيم) is the resident-services portal built by Elm with the General Directorate of Passports, used mainly by employers to manage their workers’ passport, visa and residency transactions. For most workers, Absher is the first place to look, since it is built around your own iqama (إقامة), the residence permit and national ID number issued to a foreign resident of Saudi Arabia. If your company applied for the visa on your behalf, Muqeem often shows it first, sometimes days before Absher catches up.

Single vs multiple exit re-entry visa: how to tell them apart

A exit re-entry visa (تأشيرة خروج وعودة) is the permit a resident needs to leave Saudi Arabia and return on the same iqama, issued as a single-entry or multiple-entry visa for a set number of days. The single and multiple types cover very different travel needs, so check which one you hold before you book a return flight or plan a second trip.

Both types still run out on a fixed return-by date. A multiple entry visa lets you cross the border more than once, but every trip must still finish before that date, or the whole visa is treated as expired.

Exit re-entry visa fees: single vs multiple entry

the General Directorate of Passports (الجوازات), the Saudi passports and immigration authority under the Ministry of Interior that issues iqamas, exit and re-entry visas and border numbers, sets a single exit re-entry visa at 200 riyals for up to two months, and a multiple exit re-entry visa at 500 riyals for up to three months. Extra months beyond the base period cost more, and cost double if you request them while already outside the Kingdom.

These figures follow Jawazat's published fee schedule. Total duration cannot exceed however long your iqama has left to run, fees are non-refundable once paid, and the portal always shows the exact amount before you confirm. Treat this table as a planning guide, not a receipt, and confirm the live figure on Absher when you apply.

How many days are left on your exit re-entry visa

Enter your visa's issue date (or the date you left, if you are already travelling) and its total days into the calculator above. It works out the exact return-by date and the days remaining in both the Gregorian and Hijri calendars, so you never have to count on your fingers.

Two worked examples show how this plays out:

• Single entry, issued 1 April 2026, 60 days: the return-by date lands on 31 May 2026. By today, that date has already passed, so the visa shows as expired.
• Multiple entry, issued 1 May 2026, 90 days: the return-by date lands on 30 July 2026, just a handful of days away, so the tool flags it as expiring soon.

What happens if your exit re-entry visa expires while you are abroad

An expired exit re-entry visa cannot be revived, extended or reused from outside Saudi Arabia. Once the return-by date passes, your employer typically has to arrange a fresh entry visa for you, and the delay can flag your file as absent if you do not return in time.

Contact your sponsor and the Jawazat as soon as you realise the date has lapsed. Do not wait to see what happens, since the longer the gap, the more it can complicate your residency file. Sponsor-issued vs self-issued: who applies for your exit re-entry visa

Most exit re-entry visas are applied for by the employer, since the sponsor's Muqeem account is built for exactly this task. HR requests the visa, pays the fee, and it appears against your iqama once issued.

If you hold your own full Absher account with your iqama linked, you may be able to request your own exit re-entry visa there too, without going through HR at all. Either route ends the same way: the visa attaches to your iqama, and the check steps at the top of this page work the same regardless of who applied for it. Exit re-entry visa check without Absher

You can check without your own Absher account in two ways: use Absher's public passport query, which only needs your iqama and passport number, or ask your employer to check exit re-entry on Muqeem, since company-issued visas often sit there first.

The public query on Absher is genuinely open to anyone holding a valid iqama number and passport number, no username or password required. It sits under Absher's public, no-login services rather than inside your personal account. If that lookup returns nothing, the visa was probably issued on Muqeem instead, and only your employer's company account can pull it up there.
