How to do a MOFA visa check step by step
The MOFA Visa Platform opens in Arabic by default, which is where most confusion starts. Switch it to English first, then the same inquiry screen everyone describes becomes simple to follow. Here is the full sequence, with the exact on-screen label next to each step.
- Open the the MOFA Visa Platform (منصة التأشيرات) at visa.mofa.gov.sa using the button below.
- Click the “English” link (shown as an “E”) in the top corner, since the site opens in Arabic first.
- Find “Inquiry about submitted applications” (الاستعلام عن الطلبات التي تم تقديمها) on the visitor services screen.
- Open the query type dropdown and choose “Application Number” (رقم الطلب), “Visa Document Number” (رقم مستند التأشيرة) or “Visa Request Number” (رقم طلب التأشيرة), matching whichever number you hold.
- Enter that number, then enter the “Registry Number” (رقم السجل): your national ID, iqama, passport or organisation record number, as the field asks.
- Type the “Image Code” (رمز الصورة) exactly as shown, since it is case-sensitive.
- Click “Inquiry” (استعلام) and read the result on the same page.

Both sites are official and both are live today, which is why people ask which one to use. In short: use MOFA for an application you already submitted through it, and expect KSA VISA to become the main entry point for new visa activity over time.

Enjaz and the MOFA Visa Platform: what changed
Enjaz (إنجاز) was the legacy Saudi visa-application inquiry service that has migrated into the MOFA Visa Platform. If you searched for an old Enjaz reference and landed here, that is expected: Enjaz did not shut down, its inquiry function moved inside the MOFA Visa Platform. Which number do you have?
MOFA’s inquiry always needs one reference number, and which type you hold depends on how far your visa has progressed. A fresh request usually carries an application number, an approved visa carries a visa document number, and an agent-submitted case may use a visa request number. Matching the right one to the right dropdown option is what makes the query type choice in the steps above work first time.
- An agent or Saudi mission applied for you: you likely have an application number, given the moment the request was submitted.
- The visa has already been approved: look for a visa document number on the printed visa or the confirmation email, since this replaces the application number once issued.

What a MOFA visa status result means
MOFA reports where the request sits, not a guarantee of entry. Results generally fall into three broad outcomes, though the exact wording on screen can vary by visa type and stage:
- Approved or issued: the visa has been granted. Check the validity dates shown before you travel.
- Pending or under process: the request is still being reviewed. There is nothing more to do except check again later.
- Rejected or returned: the request was declined or sent back for correction. Contact the sponsor, agent or mission that submitted it for the reason.

If MOFA shows no result or an error
A blank or “no data found” result is usually one of a handful of causes, in order of how often they come up:
- The number was typed with a space, dash or leading zero missing, so recheck every digit.
- The query type dropdown does not match the number you entered. Try the other two options.
- The registry number does not match the record MOFA holds for that application. Try your passport number if you first tried a national ID or iqama, or the reverse.
- The application has not yet been logged in the system by the mission or agent. Wait a day and try again.
If none of that works, the safest next step is to contact the sponsor, employer or agent who submitted the visa on your behalf, since they hold the case file. How can I check my MOFA visa status?
Open visa.mofa.gov.sa, switch to English with the language link in the corner, then find “Inquiry about submitted applications”. Pick your query type (application, visa document or visa request number), enter that number plus your registry number, type the image code and click Inquiry. The result shows on the same page.
Is visa.mofa.gov.sa still working, or do I need ksavisa.sa now?
Both work. visa.mofa.gov.sa is still live for checking applications already submitted through it, and it now promotes the newer KSA VISA platform on its own homepage. KSA VISA is the government’s unified platform going forward, built with more than 30 agencies, so expect more services to move there over time.
What is the difference between an application number and a visa number on MOFA?
An application number is the reference you get when you first submit a request, before a decision is made. A visa number (sometimes called a visa document number) is issued once the visa is approved and is the number used for travel and printing. Use whichever one you were given first.
Can I check a MOFA visa status by passport number alone?
Not on its own. MOFA pairs a passport or registry number with an application, visa document or visa request number, so you need at least one of those reference numbers too. If you only have a passport number, check your booking confirmation or the sponsor or agent who applied for the visa for the missing number.
Why does MOFA show no result for my visa status check?
The most common cause is a mistyped number or a mismatched query type, for example entering a visa number while the dropdown is still set to application number. It can also mean the application has not yet been logged in the system. Recheck each digit, try the other query type, then try again after a day.
What happened to Enjaz visa checks?
Enjaz has not disappeared. Its visa-application inquiry function now sits inside the MOFA Visa Platform rather than a separate Enjaz-branded site, so an old bookmark for Enjaz may no longer load. Use visa.mofa.gov.sa with the same application or visa number you would have used on Enjaz before.
