Turkey visa check online: verify an existing eVisa

Checking an existing Turkey e-Visa means confirming it on the official system with the same three details you used to apply: your application reference number, your passport number and your email address. Here is the sequence.

1. Open the Turkey e-Visa system using the button above (it opens evisa.gov.tr in a new tab).
2. Find the option to check or track an existing application, sometimes labelled Application Status or Ongoing Application.
3. Enter the application reference number from your e-Visa confirmation email.
4. Enter your passport number, matching the passport used to apply.
5. Enter the email address you applied with.
6. Complete the verification step shown on screen, then submit.
7. Read the result: approved, processing, or refused, together with the visa details if approved.

Keep the confirmation email from your original application until your trip is over. It carries the reference number the status check depends on, and losing it is the most common reason people cannot check their own e-Visa later.

Turkey visa rules for Saudi citizens

Saudi citizens travelling to Turkey for tourism or business do not need a visa or an e-Visa for a short trip. Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that ordinary and official Saudi passport holders are exempt from visa up to 90 days in any 180 day period. This is the kind of rule that has shifted before between the two countries, so confirm it still applies to your travel dates on the official portal shortly before you fly, rather than relying on an older guide.

Visa-exempt entry still needs a passport valid well beyond your planned stay. Check the exact validity rule on the official portal, since it is not the same everywhere.

If you live in Saudi Arabia but hold another passport

Turkey sets its visa rule by nationality, not by where you live. A large share of Saudi Arabia's population holds a residency, an iqama, on a passport from India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Egypt, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or elsewhere, and each of those passports follows its own rule for Turkey, separate from the Saudi exemption above.

Several common expat nationalities in Saudi Arabia fall under Turkey's conditional e-Visa route, which typically also asks for proof of a valid Schengen, UK, Irish or US visa or residence permit before it will issue. The table below is a starting point, not a substitute for checking your own nationality on the official portal, since eligibility and any supporting-document rule can change.

Start any e-Visa application on evisa.gov.tr itself, not on a travel agency site that only imitates it. The system asks you to select your nationality first, and it will tell you directly whether you are eligible for an e-Visa, need a consular visa instead, or need nothing at all.

What a valid Turkey e-Visa result shows

An approved status check does not just say yes. It shows a short set of fields that matter at the border, so read all of them before you travel.

Save the PDF the portal generates and carry a copy, printed or on your phone, with your passport. Airline check-in staff and Turkish border officers can both ask to see it before you board or enter.

If the check shows no result, or your application was refused

A blank or unexpected result is usually about the details entered, not a lost application. Work through these before assuming the worst:

• No data found: recheck every character of the reference number, and confirm the email matches exactly what you used to apply.
• Still processing: most applications clear within hours, but leave a full day before checking again if you applied recently.
• Refused: the portal shows the outcome; it does not explain the reason or accept an appeal itself. A new application, or a consular visa instead, is usually the next step.
• Wrong system: if you applied through a Turkish consulate rather than online, your status sits with that consulate, not with evisa.gov.tr.
