An Umrah visa check means two different things depending on how you got your visa. If you booked through Nusuk yourself, your status sits in your own account. If a travel agent or Umrah company applied for you, you check it with the reference they hand you. This page covers both paths, plus a free tool for the days left before your visa expires.

- Go to My Bookings, sometimes shown as your applications or reservations list.
- Select the Umrah booking you want to check.
- Read the status field: submitted, under review, issued or rejected.
- If it shows issued, open or download the visa PDF and note the entry deadline printed on it.
- If it shows under review for longer than a few days, use the Nusuk help or support option rather than reapplying.

- Ask your travel agent or Umrah company for your visa or application number and confirm the exact passport number they used, since the application sits under their account, not yours.
- Open the KSA VISA platform (or your agent's link, if they gave you one to the MOFA Visa Platform).
- Find the visa status or inquiry option and enter the reference and passport number your agent gave you.
- Read the result: issued, under process or rejected, and any entry deadline shown.
- If nothing comes back, or your agent cannot produce a reference at all, treat that as a warning sign and ask more questions before you pay the balance.

Two clocks run on an Umrah visa: the deadline to enter, and the days you may stay once you do. Run the tool below twice if you need both: once with "Issue date" and 30 days for your entry deadline, then again with "Entry date" and 90 days for your stay limit.

Umrah visa check: Nusuk-issued or agent-issued?
A Nusuk-issued visa is one you applied for yourself, so your status, PDF and booking sit in your own account. An agent-issued visa was applied for by a travel company on your behalf, so you need the reference number they hold, and you check it on a different portal than the one they used to apply.
Nusuk (نسك) is the official Saudi platform for planning Umrah and Hajj, including Umrah visa applications. Since 2025, every Umrah pilgrim, including those travelling on a company package, must have a Nusuk-linked booking before a visa can be issued. That does not mean every pilgrim has their own Nusuk login: many still travel on a visa an agent arranged through the MOFA Visa Platform (منصة التأشيرات), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs platform for issuing and checking visas applied for through Saudi missions and agents, now being unified under the KSA VISA platform Status checks for that route increasingly run through the unified KSA VISA platform (منصة تأشيرات المملكة), the single Saudi visa platform bringing tourist eVisa, MOFA and other visa services under one entry point, since Saudi Arabia is folding older visa portals into it.

What the Umrah visa status field means
Nusuk and the visa platforms report a small set of statuses. The exact wording on screen can vary by language and by which portal issued your visa, so treat this table as a guide, not a literal transcript.

How long is an Umrah visa valid?
A single-entry Umrah visa must currently be used to enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of the date it is issued, or it is cancelled automatically. Once you cross the border, your stay is capped at up to 90 days, counted from your entry date, not your issue date. Always read your own visa document, since this window can change and your agent's paperwork shows the exact dates that apply to you.
Saudi Arabia also offers a multiple-entry Umrah visa. It runs for 365 days from the date it is issued and lets you enter more than once in that period, but your combined stay across every visit is still capped at 90 days in total. This suits people who split a longer trip into more than one visit, such as combining Umrah with GCC travel.

Umrah season dates and the Hijri calendar
Umrah runs for most of the year, but Saudi Arabia pauses new Umrah entries for several weeks before Hajj, so Makkah and Madinah can prepare. Because Hajj falls in the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, which runs on the Hijri calendar, this pause lands roughly ten to twelve days earlier on the Gregorian calendar each year. Check the current cut-off on Nusuk before you book close to Hajj season.
Saudi Arabia uses the Umm al-Qura Hijri calendar for official dates, which does not always match a personal moon-sighting calendar. Can I visit Makkah on a visit visa instead of an Umrah visa?
Yes. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that holders of most valid Saudi visas, including a visit visa (تأشيرة زيارة, a temporary visa allowing a family member or visitor to enter Saudi Arabia for a limited period), a work visa or a business visa, can perform Umrah without applying for a dedicated Umrah visa.
You still need to register an Umrah permit through Nusuk before you enter Masjid al-Haram, since that permit controls mosque entry times and Rawdah slots separately from the visa itself. Residents already inside the Kingdom typically register this permit through Nusuk or Absher rather than through a fresh visa application. If you already hold a visa for another purpose, check Nusuk first before assuming you need to buy a separate Umrah package.
If your Umrah visa is expired, rejected or shows no data
Nusuk and the visa platforms report the record; they do not issue a new one automatically. Here is what the common outcomes mean in practice.
- Expired: you missed the entry deadline or overstayed. You need a fresh booking and a new visa, not an extension.
- Rejected: a requirement was not met, often the Nusuk-linked hotel or transport booking. Ask Nusuk support or your agent for the specific reason before you reapply.
- No data found: a reference or passport number was mistyped, or the application has not reached the system yet. Recheck the digits before contacting anyone.

How do I check my Umrah visa status online?
If you applied yourself, sign in to Nusuk and open "My Bookings" to see whether your Umrah visa is submitted, under review, issued or rejected. If a travel agent applied for you, ask for your visa or application number and check it on the KSA VISA platform instead.
Can I check my Umrah visa online by passport number?
Nusuk and the KSA VISA platform normally ask for your visa or application number alongside your passport number, not the passport number on its own. Keep the reference your Nusuk account or your agent gave you, since a passport number alone will not usually return a result.
How do I check my Umrah visa insurance?
Mandatory travel and medical insurance is bundled into the Umrah visa fee and confirmed automatically once Nusuk or your agent issues the visa, so most pilgrims do not run a separate insurer lookup. If you need proof of cover, ask your agent or check your Nusuk booking confirmation for the policy document.
How long is an Umrah visa valid before I have to enter Saudi Arabia?

No. Hajj runs through a separate Nusuk Hajj service at hajj.nusuk.sa, with its own registration, country quota and status system tied to your national Hajj mission. An Umrah visa check on the main Nusuk Umrah service will not show your Hajj application status.
